From Trust fanzine, (Germany)
Nathaniel Green
I can't say, unfortunately, how Nathaniel Green came to be selected as the
name of the band - the two individuals hiding behind this identity have
quite different names - but I can say what a beautiful CD these two
musicians (totally unknown to me until now) have just brought out. A little
over 21 minutes in length, Down ToYou Then, Supergirl offers 6 beautiful,
very quiet and sensitive pop songs, reminiscent of other musicians who
favour accoustic guitar, such as The New Amsterdams or The Weakerthans.
Rooted a little deeper in pop, perhaps, the guitar is joined by piano and
even a harmonica, but have no fear, these songs are far from kischy or
slushy.
On the contrary, these 2 Englishmen create such an unpretentious
and warm sound that anyone who is open to moments of melancholy will find
this record, at the very least, attractive. My appeal to you is as follows:
take a look at the band's website, download an MP3 and make yourself an
image. Nathaniel Green deserves serious attention.
